Taiwanese singer to hold solo concert

Taiwanese pop star Winnie Hsin will hold a solo concert at Poly Theater in Nanshan District on May 7.
Hsin is best known for her striking soprano voice.
She released her first album, “Lonely Winter,” in 1986, and followed that effort with 15 more albums
over the years. In 1995, she voiced the title character in the Mandarin version of Walt Disney’s
animated “Pocahontas.” She also performed the Mandarin version of the film’s theme song, “Color
of the Wind,” along with other songs in the soundtrack. In 2003, Hsin starred as Zhu Yingtai in
a Taiwanese musical based on the Chinese legend of “Butterfly Lovers.”
In the Shenzhen concert, she likely will sing her classic works such as “Understanding” and “Scent.”
